Koehler was a newcomer at the packaging trade fair FachPack. Koehler presented its portfolio of packaging papers. Koehler's next appearance will be at Interpack 2020 in Düsseldorf.
Packaging for the Future. This was the motto the Koehler Paper Group used to present itself at FachPack 2019 in Nuremberg. "Together we are stronger" could also have been a possible title for the presentation at the trade fair. The company presented a wide range of products that offer the packaging industry exciting alternatives.
In addition to the paper for flexible packaging with which Koehler entered the market this year, there were also products from the fine paper and recycled paper segments, reflecting what was generally to be seen at the trade fair: Paper is the packaging material of the hour. Consumers consider it sus-tainable and prefer it.
LCA: Paper 60 percent better than plastic
Manufacturers of packaging machines are also addressing the topic of paper. At SN Maschinenbau GmbH's stand at the FachPack, one could see that Koehler's heat-sealable paper NexPlus Seal can be excellently processed into stand-up bags. The retooling time was also no challenge for the machine manufacturer's technicians.
At a press conference, Koehler's management team under CEO Kai Furler presented the company's plans for flexible packaging paper and beyond. One of the highlights of the press conference was the presentation of the results of a streamlined Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), in which an external service provider compared products made of NexPlus Seal with conventional applications made of plastic or composite materials. This involved performing a systematic analysis of the environmental impacts of products throughout their entire life cycle. In comparison, the carbon footprint of Koehler paper products was more than 60 percent lower than that of the comparable products.
Koehler is very satisfied with the results of FachPack
In general, Koehler is extremely satisfied with the trade fair. "The presence at the fair was a complete success for us," says Christoph Müller-Stoffels, Head of Marketing & Communications at Koehler. "We were able to present our entire portfolio of paper for high-quality packaging solutions and had countless visitors at our stand throughout the trade fair."
Koehler is already looking forward to Interpack in May 2020 in Düsseldorf. The company will also be exhibiting there and presenting new products and solutions for the packaging market. In short, "Packaging for the Future", made of paper, of course.
