Specialty Paper for Customers all over the World

Koehler Paper can look back on 215 years of company history, and with a turnover around €1.3 billion, it is now one of the few independent, family-owned German companies in the paper industry.

At our headquarters in Oberkirch and our plants in Kehl, Greiz, and Weisenbach, around 2,500 people produce over 500,000 tons of specialty paper and board each year for the global market using the very latest technology. And it is a commercial success.

Successful Production

The company’s thermal paper, playing card board and drink coasters have made it the world market leader, and it is the European market leader in carbonless paper with reacto®. Decor paper for the furniture industry, sublimation paper, high-grade fine paper and specialist paper as well as colorful recycled board made of 100% secondary fibers complete our product range.

And we’re still investing. In Kehl, for example, the new production line 8 has produced the first tambour.

Conserving all resources is inextricably linked with our efforts to safeguard the future of our company. In addition to its core business of paper, the Koehler Group is therefore increasingly investing in the segment of renewable energies. Our long-term objective is to generate more renewable energy than we use to produce our own paper.

Our strategy for the future includes both research into new technologies and investments in promising start-ups.
