Koehler Paper PakoPharm® Thin Printing Paper Optimized for SCREEN Truepress HSI
20.02.2026
All available grammages of PakoPharm®, the widely used thin printing paper made by Koehler Paper for the package inserts used by the pharmaceutical industry, have now been optimized for printing on SCREEN Truepress HSI systems.

PakoPharm® is especially optimal for applications that require low paper weight, good legibility, a pleasant white color, and excellent processing properties. This is particularly important when considering that the demand for versatile, fast, and customizable printing solutions continues to grow constantly. In fact, the pharmaceutical industry is a perfect example of how shrinking print run volumes, growing variation, and increasingly stricter regulatory requirements are all resulting in a trend towards digital production processes. With this optimization, PakoPharm® combines extremely high printing quality with minimal ink showthrough even when using low grammages. In addition, it continues to have the same exceptional subsequent processing properties and guarantee the usual high quality that customers have come to expect when using traditional offset printing.
Optimized for the latest production needs of the pharmaceutical industry
The above are the requirements that PakoPharm® now fulfills to perfection with this latest optimization for SCREEN Truepress HSI systems. The combination of high inkjet printing quality, low paper weight, and smooth subsequent processing make the product the ideal solution for modern package insert production – both with offset and digital printing. “With this complete optimization for SCREEN Truepress HSI systems, we’re making PakoPharm® fit for the growing needs of the digital market while simultaneously providing our customers with maximum production flexibility,” says Marco Lang, the Director of Fine Paper & Car-bonless Paper at Koehler Paper. PakoPharm® demonstrated its capabilities in November 2025 at the SCREEN Open House in Aalsmeer (NL).
