Kai M. Furler, CEO of the Koehler Group, was pleased to present the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. (support organization for children with cancer) with a donation of 11,000 euros. This sum was raised by the company's employees via various campaigns. Bernd Rendler was delighted and grateful to receive the check on behalf of the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V.
Planned use: Construction of a new Parent's House
The new Parents’ House at the University Clinic in Freiburg, which bears the project name "A tem-porary home", is due to be completed by 2022. There, parents can accompany their children and be present during their treatment. Just as last year, Koehler is once again contributing to the success-ful completion of the project.
"Koehler cycles" – also good for health, the environment and the wallet
From Oberkirch to New York and back again – over 180 Koehler employees cycled more than 120,000 kilometers last year and recorded them on the company intranet. Koehler donates 5 cents per kilometer. This meant that some 6,015.05 euros were raised in 2020, which the company man-agement rounded up to 10,000 euros.
At the same time, around 18,000 euros in fuel costs and over 19,000 kilos of CO₂ were saved. "The initiative is a win-win for all of us in many respects," says a delighted Stefan Grözinger, Head of Hu-man Resources Development, Training and Corporate Health Management at Koehler. "Our em-ployees are doing something for their health and for the environment. They are also helping to ensure that those who are less fortunate receive some support."
Donation sum increased with donations for art calendars
In addition to the donations from the "Koehler cycles" campaign, the "Black Forest Art Calendar 2021" campaign also generated donations of 660 euros, which the management also rounded up to 1,000 euros. Koehler employees were able to obtain the annual calendar featuring works by the artist Selina Haas in return for a donation.
