The Koehler Group reached important milestones over the past year. In 2026, the Group intends to build on this progress with forward-looking projects and initiatives. These are the six top sustainability goals that will be in focus in 2026:

Area of action “Successful, Future-proof Products and Services”: Design for recyclability
The company systematically reviews the recyclability of its paper products within the paper waste stream, conducts targeted tests on biodegradability, and continuously further develops its products.

Area of action “Renewable Raw Materials and Responsible Sources”: Source responsibly
The Koehler Group is increasingly relying on FSC®- and PEFC-certified raw materials and strengthening its structures by revising its organizational setup and establishing a dedicated role for sustainable supply chains.

Area of action “Resource Efficiency”: Smart energy management
The company is reviewing all options to increase efficiency, including new concepts for demand-driven energy use and previously uneconomical equipment. In addition, the company contributes its expertise to the power plant developer Iqony.

Area of action “A Visionary Approach to Climate Action”: Use energy more efficiently
In 2026, technology and processes at the Kehl site will be specifically optimized to use energy even more efficiently.

The company is improving occupational safety, health protection, and corporate health management to ensure that all employees at the Koehler Group can work safely and in good health.

The Koehler Group is establishing central processes for CSRD reporting and capturing sustainability metrics more precisely—clearly presented in a new key figures overview.
