Koehler Group Receives EcoVadis Platinum Rating Once Again – Extraordinary Sustainability Confirmed

For the second time in a row, the Koehler Group has been awarded Platinum status by internationally renowned sustainability rating platform EcoVadis. Not only that, but the family business was even able to outdo its extraordinary performance from last year by getting a score of 91 out of 100 possible points, putting it among the top one percent of all rated companies worldwide once again. 

“The fact that we were able to improve on our previous score shows that our consistent efforts to imple-ment our sustainability strategy are meeting with external acknowledgment. Also, it goes without saying that I’m tremendously happy that we were able to surpass what was already a very high score,” under-scores Koehler Group Sustainability Manager Jens Kriete. In addition, the company’s climate targets were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) earlier this year, representing another example of the aforementioned acknowledgment. 

Right on track with 2030 Sustainability Strategy 

The Koehler Group is pursuing ambitious goals: By 2030, the company wants to generate more energy from renewable sources than it requires for its paper production operations. The EcoVadis rating is an integral part of this strategy. “With a score of 91, we’ve already far exceeded our original goal of having a score of 80 by 2030,” Kriete adds. 

EcoVadis rates more than 150,000 companies in over 182 countries worldwide in the Environment, Ethics, Sustainable Procurement, and Labor and Human Rights categories. Its evaluation criteria follow international standards, and the platform makes it possible for companies to transparently present their sustainability performance and position themselves as responsible businesses.
