Campaign: “Pack It with Paper”

Raising Awareness for Circular Packaging Solutions

Through a high-impact campaign and a nationwide roadshow, Koehler Paper is actively promoting the benefits of paper-based packaging and the circular economy. The first tour stops confirmed a strong and growing demand for sustainable, recyclable packaging solutions across the industry.

Raising Awareness for Circular Packaging Solutions

Paper has a key role to play in helping companies meet the requirements of the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and advance more sustainable packaging systems. With its “Pack It with Paper” campaign, Koehler Paper is actively highlighting the benefits of paper-based packaging to a broad audience. At the heart of the initiative is a giant origami cat, serving as a powerful symbol of paper’s recyclability and its place in a functioning circular economy.

The campaign combines digital and real-world communication channels to maximize its reach. Through an online information platform, social media activities, and eye-catching public installations, Koehler Paper is showcasing the potential of sustainable paper packaging solutions for food brands, retailers, and manufacturers. The goal is to strengthen awareness of paper as a high-performance, recyclable packaging alternative and to actively engage policymakers, businesses, and consumers in the conversation about sustainable packaging.

A key element of the initiative was the first stage of a nationwide roadshow. Covering more than 2,000 kilometers and eight locations across Germany, the origami cat brought Koehler Paper directly to companies from the retail, consumer goods, and industrial sectors. The conclusion is clear: demand for future-proof, recyclable, and regulation-compliant packaging solutions is growing rapidly. Discussions throughout the tour demonstrated that paper-based packaging is increasingly viewed as an essential component in achieving sustainability and circular economy goals.

The roadshow will continue in northern Germany from September on, culminating in a symbolic finale at Koehler Paper’s recycling mill in Greiz. There, the origami cat will be recycled and returned to the paper cycle—sending a strong and visible message about the future of truly circular packaging solutions.
